You will be advised by the committee as soon as possible should the golf club cancel a round due to bad weather or for any other reason. Check your emails from P2BGL@gmail.com If you decide not to play because of forecasted weather please contact a committee member 24 Hrs in advance of the round; to avoid a game credit being charged against the league. The committee member will then call the pro shop to cancel your spot.

  • What happens when severe weather disrupts a round?
  • What happens when severe weather disrupts a round?

Where there is disruption of play due to lightning, heavy rain, etc. all players must make every effort to complete the round once the disruption has subsided. When rounds are called by the committee or the golf club due to severe weather, they may still be considered valid for prizes if six (6) or more holes have been completed by all of the players. For example, if the last group only finished 6 holes, then the first 6 holes scores get counted towards the quota for ALL the players. We will zero out holes 7, 8 & 9 for everyone, and then the differential will still play out. Same thing would be for the closest to the pin if it falls in those last 3 holes, it wouldn’t get awarded and the money can be credited. The only exception is for players that decide to quit the game where they could have finished the round. In that case, they will be marked as double pars for their score and not impact people that were able to complete the round.

  • If I have a bad hole, do I have to complete the hole?
  • If I have a bad hole, do I have to complete the hole?

No. You can pick up the ball after reaching double par and enter that on the scorecard (the Stableford points for a double bogey and more is 0). This will help with the pace of play and your piece of mind.

Scoring
  • What is the Stableford method of scoring?
  • What is the Stableford method of scoring?

Stableford involves scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole, e.g. Double Bogey or more = 0, Bogey = 1, Par = 2, Birdie = 3, etc. Points for all nine (9) holes are added and become the player’s Total Stableford Score (TSS). Under Stableford, the objective is to have the highest score.

  • How are rounds scored?
  • How are rounds scored?

P2BGL scoring is based on a modified Stableford and quota system. Your initial Quota (Q), or expected TSS, is based on your current 9-hole handicap for the first 3 games, i.e. Q = 36 - Handicap/2, rounded up. After three games, your Q becomes the average TSS scored to date. For example, (12+14+8)/3 = 11.3 pts, rounded up to 12 is your Q for game #4. Your score for each round is calculated as a Differential (D), as follows: D = Actual TSS – Q. For example, Player 1 has an actual TSS of 14 and a Q of 12, therefore D = 14 – 12 = +2. Player 2 has an actual TSS of 8 and a Q of 11, therefore D = 8 – 11 = -3. Therefore, Player 1 would win the round.

  • What happens to my Stableford Quota (Q) if I miss a few games?
  • What happens to my Stableford Quota (Q) if I miss a few games?

It is assumed that you played your average Q for that missed game. Your average Q will be entered in the spreadsheet.
